Poldhu Sand Martins Greeting Card

Sand martins are birds that I particularly associate with the Lizard and
wanted to feature in an illustration. We used to see them at Poldhu Cove every summer, when we lived in Helston. With so many insect eating species in decline,
I was worried their nest holes in the cliffs would be empty - but happily
they were there, zipping over the beach and squabbling with each other.
Swallows and house martins look a lot more flashy in their blue-black
tuxedos but I love the sand martins’ soft brown suits the best.
